Centre Com Devices

As part of our BYOD policy, we are requesting students bring laptops to school as part of their learning. While we understand this is not an option for some families, we've worked with Centre Com to ensure families have access to affordable options.

The Centre Com BYOD portal provides a secure process for parents to purchase and maintain high quality education accredited products for their families.

How does it work?

Centre Com education specialists have worked with Sunshine College to select the right product for our education program. All models on the Sunshine College BYOD portal are suitable for the school curriculum.

Once your order has been paid, Centre Com will set up the device with the required software and deliver to Sunshine College.

Sunshine College will configure and set up your device and will allocate to the students. This may take up to 2 weeks. There are options to purchase extended warranties, insurance and accessories.

What happens if you need technical support?

PURCHASED VIA CENTRECOM

If a student experiences a problem with a device that has been purchased through Centrecom, the following process will occur:

  • At recess or lunchtime students can take their device to the IT department. ICT staff will check if it is a software or hardware problem.

  • If it is a software problem they will fix the issue. If the issue is a hardware problem, Sunshine College is not responsible and will not fix the problem.

  • Our IT department will check if the device is under warranty. If so, they will register a repair request through Centrecom.  Centrecom will arrange to visit the school and fix the device. If it is not under warranty the family will need to arrange their own repair.

ALL OTHER DEVICES

  • At recess or lunchtime students can take their device to the IT department. ICT staff will check if it is a software or hardware problem.

  • If it is a software problem they will fix the issue. If the issue is a hardware problem, Sunshine College is not responsible. The family will need to arrange their own repair.
